The International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE) is a not-for-profit membership organization founded to develop and share interdisciplinary principles and practices for the engineering of successful systems. INCOSE Denmark is the authorized Danish local chapter of INCOSE.
What INCOSE works for
- Provide a focal point for sharing systems engineering knowledge.
- Promote international collaboration in systems engineering practice, education and research.
- Help establish scalable professional standards for the practice of systems engineering.
- Improve the professional status of everyone engaged in systems engineering.
- Encourage government and industry support for research and education that improve the systems engineering process and its practice.
How INCOSE Denmark began
In 2012 a small group of systems engineers from a few Danish companies attended the 22nd Annual INCOSE International Symposium in Rome, which created the first connections into INCOSE.
The first steps toward a local Danish chapter were taken at the Nordic Systems Engineering Tour 2013 event at GN ReSound in Copenhagen, where an informal meeting was held to discuss the possibilities. The meeting opened with a general introduction to INCOSE by Asmus Pandikow, at that time Sector Director for the INCOSE EMEA Sector, who reflected how INCOSE could benefit the Danish systems engineering community and how a Danish chapter could add value to INCOSE.
The participants then discussed the need and viability of a Danish chapter. Given the interest shown at the event, it was decided to form a “core team” responsible to formally establish it.

INCOSE Denmark was officially established at the founding meeting on October 30, 2013.
Governance
INCOSE Denmark is run by a Board of Directors elected by the members at the Annual General Meeting. See the Board of Directors. The chapter’s rules are set out in our bylaws (PDF).
